Weekly Update On Our Doitinvest Investment Portfolio no.1 – U.S. Blue Chip Stocks (3)

As we have adopted fundamentally long positions in our US blue chip shares portfolio, there are no changes in the no of shares owned as of today. However, the market seemed to come back a little bit this week and we extended our gains modestly (but certainly, as $8,000 is no little gain I’d say -0.8% per week measn 40% in one year, an investment yield hard to obtain otherwise than by doing a lot of short selling these days).

So the summary of our US portfolio looks as follows:

As you can notice there are no signifficant cahnges in value in our doitinvest.com portfolio. Interestingly enough, the technology stocks continued their advance (or at least they maintained their previous one).

In a foreseeable manner, Ford gained 6% in value, which is logical given the fact that in a few months it might remain on the market as the only standing US car manufacturer in what remains the largest auto market in the world. Our investing portfolio has also advanced based on the banking sector advancements (see the gains of BOA), which seem to see the light these days. The services sector has also been helped by their quarterly results postings, which overall were better than the analyst estimations.

So not a bad week after all for our portfolio which (again) has outperformed with 2.5% the Dow Jones Industrial Average Index (falling 1.7% this week).
